who help make your pet's stay more enjoyable! We all have a

DOGS! More photos and bios coming....... stay

Below photo on

our office Christmas party 2007! We had so much
fun!Starting at the bottom: Julie (part time groomer),
First row (from the left), Eddie
(groomer), Mary (kennels, receptionist, grooming apprentice),
Maureen (receptionist, kennels, bather), Lindsey (kennels), Second
row, Angie (owner/groomer), Rachel (previous kennel helper), Herman
(kennel helper) and Lynda (receptionist, kennels,
bather).
Below photo
on the right side are the four of us who just passed our
Therapy Dog training class. We also all passed our CGC (canine good
citizen) test. Starting from the left is Maureen and "Hannah", Julie
and "Brittany", Angie and "Beamer" (standing), and Lynda with
"Pepper".

In the above photo is Maureen with
her two dogs, Hailey and Hannah. Most of you are probably very
familiar with all of them since they are some of the first faces you
see when you walk through the door. Maureen has been a Godsend to
have at the shop. Not only is she always ready to greet you with a
smile and a hello, but has a caring and compassionate heart for all
the animals she comes into contact with. You never have to worry
about having your pet's needs met when she is around. She is very
attentive to each and everyone of their individual needs. She works
all over in the shop..... from the front desk, to baths to letting
dogs out in the kennels! Always eager to please and never sits still
for a moment, I am not sure what I would do without her!
In Maureen's own
words: Hello!
My name is Maureen Fischer and my girls, Hannah (the lab) and Hailey
(the cattle dog/blue heeler) love to greet each and every one of you
that come through the front door with a smile and a wag or
two. I am a farm girl from North
Dakota
and was blessed growing up with many dogs and cats to love and take
care of. I am very much an animal lover ... always have
been, always will be!!!! I also have 2 cats at home
(Sydney and Ariel), one of which I adopted from the Headwaters
Animal Shelter. Hailey, my cattle dog/blue heeler was also
adopted there. My work at Angie's is enjoyable and rewarding
at the same time and I look forward to each day there. Thank
you, Angie, for taking me
in.
Above photo is Bridgette (on right) & myself (on left).
Bridgette is our newest groomer although she does have a few years
of grooming experience under her belt already. Her calming voice and
gentle touch has a way of soothing even the most anxious dog. You
will be amazed at her patience and her skills when it comes to
grooming. I can't tell you how excited and lucky I am to work with
her! She is just a sweetheart!
In
Bridgette's own words: Hi, my name is Bridgette Hasbrouck. I grew up
in a small town in Southwest N.D. As a girl I grew up with horses,
dogs, cats and rabbits. I showed horses and dogs in 4-H and local
county shows. I moved to MN after high school and attended the
University of Minnesota Crookston pursing a degree in the horse
industry. I got a Summer job in Nevis at BK Ranch giving trail
rides, I got married and then discovered dog grooming. I took a
couple years off to have two wonderful perfect little boys (Bowden
and Riley), but animals are in my heart and I feel very lucky to be
grooming again. My family also includes 3 dogs (Harley, Kyra and
Trinity), 4 cats (Spitz, Kitty, Jag and Stripey) as well as 7
horses. I feel very blessed to spend my days grooming dogs at
Angie's, hanging out with my two boys and raising and training
horses.
My name is Stephanie
Hafner. I was born and raised in Park Rapids. I moved
away for about 13 years after high school, and moved back to PR in
2004. I work full time at Thielen Motors as an accounting
assistant, and I also help out part-time at my family's business,
Hafner's Greenhouse. I volunteer at the Headwaters Animal
Shelter, and I am currently on the Board of Directors. I have two
Golden Retrievers, Sophie and Maggie. They are my babies and
they are definitely spoiled! I have always loved
animals, so I couldn't wait to move back and have a place
where I could have dogs. I am so glad to be working at
Angie's! Everyone here has such a passion for
animals. Thanks Angie for giving us such a
place!!
Pictured to the left is Megan. When she applied
for the job I was so excited! She has worked with dogs her entire
life. Not only has she worked as a vet. tech., she is an incredible
dog trainer! She has trained hundreds of dogs. I have yet to hear
any of her clients complain about her work. She has 12 years
professional training experience. Offering private in-home lessons
specializing in establishing leadership and good manners. Experience
working with aggression, fearful behavior, separation anxiety,
jumping and housebreaking issues. Call Megan at 218-252-0826.
If you are in need of any kind of dog training, give her a
call! We have her business card at the front desk as well. She has
also worked with dog rescue groups and has even fostered quite a
few. She has 5 of her own dogs as well as 3 cats.
Next I would like you to meet Herman (pictured below
on left with his dog Tags and Teddy the Great Dane on right). Herman
has a heart of gold and a gentle touch. His calm demeanor and voice
really help the dogs relax and trust him. They know they are in good
hands when with him. Watching him around the animals always puts a
smile on my face. He is a wonderful addition to our "family" here at
Angie's Groom 'n Board.
In Herman's words:
As a boy I grew up with a dog named
"Chico" who lived to be 17 years old and a cat named "Billy". I
wasn't able to have pets again until I moved to Park Rapids in 1981.
At that time I acquired a dog named "Teddy" who I got from the
Golden Valley Humane Society. He adored me as much as I adored him.
He lived to be 13 years old. I also had 3 cats named "Tux",
"Whiskers" and "Friday". "Friday" was born on Friday the 13th, an
all black female cat who was mostly ferrel. She ignored me but lived
to be 18 years old. My current dog, "Tags" (in photo), is a mixed
black lab who walks with me twice a day. The vet. estimated his
mautre weight would be 45 pounds. He actually ended up peaking out
at 103 pounds, so I call him my 45 pound wonder dog
because I kept wondering how big he would grow! My
current cat is named "Cisco". He is an orange tabby who looks like
"Morris the cat" on t.v. He weighs 18 pounds and is 3 years
old. One of my favorite t.v. shows is the "Dog Whisperer". I
have learned a lot about handling dogs from watching this show. When
the Park Rapids Humane Society opened their new facility in 2003 I
volunteered to walk their dogs. In October 2006 I started to work
for Angie's Groom 'n Board to care for cats, dogs and even an
African Parrot. I love pets and really enjoy taking care of their
needs at Angie's kennels.
 Here is Julie (pictured
above)! I am so proud to say she is one of my groomers here on
staff. She learned through my grooming apprenticeship program and
was a natural. She is awesome with the dogs and has a great fondness
for the extra large breeds. You will never hear her complain about
getting drooled on or getting big slobbery wet kisses from the
dogs. She just considers it "just precious" in her own words! She
works Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you haven't had a chance to meet
her, pop in and say, you will see for yourself the love &
compassion she has dogs!
In her own
words:
Hi! My name is Julie
Raykovich and I LOVE dogs!! I was born and raised in
Washington State and my family had dogs ever since I was a little
girl. Most pictures of me from day one include me holding onto
any dog I could get my hands on. My mom was always afraid I
would get bit as I would run for a dog to pet it as soon as I saw
one. My love of dogs took me to Bellingham Technical College
to earn my Veterinary Assistant's Certificate. I worked as a
Veterinary Assistant for a year and then started my own pet
sitting business for a couple of years. My husband & I
transferred out to Park Rapids in 2005 and I have since gotten
a part-time job with the county as a Deputy Recorder and a
part-time job with Angie working as a groomer. Angie was kind
enough to take me under her wing and teach me the skill of
grooming!! I've really enjoyed learning to groom and working
with the group at Angie's! I currently have four dogs,
Brittany, a Golden Retriever Mix, a certified Canine Good Citizen
therapy dog who I rescued from a Humane Society; Kramer, a Jack
Russell Terrier; Tiki, a Parsons Jack Russell Terrier; and, our
newest addition, Morgan, a 4 month old Schnug (Schnauzer/Pug). My
dogs truly are my "babies" and I love them more than words can
say!
Next we
have Lynda (pictured above left). She has been with me since we
first opened our doors in the new shop. She has been my "right
hand" in basically all levels of the shop. She gives me so much
helpful advice as well as keeping me grounded. I really don't know
what I would do without her by my side!
In
her own words:
Hi, my
name is Lynda Hermmerich. I am 47 years old and disabled due to
depression. I try to spend a lot of time volunteering so I do not
sit around and feel sorry for myself. Being around pets really helps
keep my spirits up. I have been volunteering at Angie's since
she opened the new building in Feb. of 2006. I grew up in the
Chicago suburbs.
I moved to this area in Nov. 2005. I currently have 2 dogs.
Sugar, an older Yorkie, and Pepper, a 2.5 year old toy poodle.
Pepper has recently graduated from Therapy Dog Training and passed
his AKC Canine Good Citizen test. Pepper and I go to the nursing
home here in town on Mondays to visit with the residents. Pepper
also has taken Fly Ball classes. He’s not much interested in
balls so did not do so well.
My first dog was Benji, a Lhasa Apso. He was a "pound puppy".
I had Benji for 16 years. He was my closest companion and I loved
him so much. He is dearly missed. I adopted Sugar and Lady
Bug (a toy poodle), together. Lady Bug was 16 when she passed away.
I had her for 3 years. She was just the sweetest little thing. I
recently purchased 3 yorkies that I intend to breed. I am very excited about this
new adventure. I have also had hamsters, fish, parakeets and an
iguana. I also volunteer at Bearly Used, a thrift store that employs
handicapped adults. I regularly attend church and volunteer for
various church related
activities. |
